FSRDC Service Initiatives
FSRDC monitors and relays government surplus property information to non-profit organizations who have expressed needs and coordinates the distribution of items between the non-profit organization and the donating agency. Through this initiative, the Council currently operates Advanced Technology for Challenged Kids - A.T.C.K., a computer recycling /reconditioning effort, targeted to children / youth statewide. The project secures and reconditions, donated computer equipment / systems and distributed these items, at no expense, to challenged children / youth, their families, and to the non-profits organizations which serve them. This project is implemented by two physically challenged Americorps*VISTA volunteers on a daily basis. Free Internet access is made available to computer recipients, through the generosity of NetTally, a Tallahassee-based computer services company.
